Outside, wind may be blowing over the Musashino Plain; yet here, in my calm mind, I am thinking of my hometown.

As I press the oranges with the fingers of both hands, the seeds are squeezed out in disarray. It has a nice sound.

- 武蔵野: The region stretching from the western part of central Tokyo to Saitama Prefecture. The name originates in a historical province that encompassed much of present-day Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa Prefectures.
- であろうに: This expression combines conjecture and concession: "X may be the case, yet Y". に is used in a concessive sense, similarly to its function in のに.
- 想っている: The character 想 tends to be used when おもう has the sense of contemplation, sentimental reflection, etc. 思, the usual character for this verb, has the general sense of having a thought about something.

- This is onomatopoeia for the sound made by the water in the bathtub.

- ビロウド: Velvet. A loanword from the Portuguese veludo. The usual spelling is ビロード, with a lengthening mark.

- ぶら下っている: The verb ぶら下がる means to hang down from something. ぶら comes from ぶらぶら, "dangling, swinging".
